Profile

Llano Uplift by Will Lamb

In addition to studies located in the Southern Grenville province (e.g., the Adirondack Mountains), we have been working on the Grenville aged rocks of the Llano Uplift, Central Texas. This work has consisted of thermobarometry involving mineral equilibria in marbles, calc-silicates, and pelites in an effort to better understand the tectono-metamorphic history of this region. These studies, taken together, have helped to delineate peak metamorphic P-T and to determine the extent to which the amphibolite facies "regional" metamorphism was caused by the intrusion of the granitic plutons that are found throughout the area. This work was conducted by a former student, Cherith Letargo.
