Research Interest

I am interested in studying near surface environmental geophysics. Currently, my research is to create a methodology of using and processing data from the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) system to achieve high resolution of thinning sandstone beds. The research area is in North Padre Island where we are looking at wash-overs. The wash-overs occur where storm waves push over dunes and flood the surface land. At these locations, sand is pushed outward into thinning sheets. It is our goal to use GPR to see where the sand beds pinch out.
