Research InterestsMy research focuses on the palynological biostratigraphy of Wilcox Group sediments located in Bastrop, Texas. I intend to 1) provide better age control, 2) locate the PETM, and 3) provide a complete and detailed biostratigraphy for the section. I am also working with Dr. T. Yancey and T. Hull on the depositional environment and stratigraphy of the section. Ultimately, I would like to correlate these outcrops with deepwater Gulf of Mexico Wilcox sediments.
Other goals of this research include characterizing the large channel complex located within the section and analyzing fossilized plant cuticle for both identification of species and atmospheric CO2 ratios based on stomatal complexes.
