Bio:

Casey is originally from Utah.  He first pursued an accounting degree at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah.  However, he later discovered that he did not have a passion for accounting.  After looking at various majors he settled on Geology because of his desire to study the earth and because of the real world applications of geology.  After completing his accounting degree and additional geology classes at BYU, Casey moved to Texas A&M for graduate school in order to get a job in the petroleum industry.  Casey's background gives him a unique set of skills in both in geology and business.

Casey Jolley

Graduate Student

Currently pursuing a Masters in Geology

B.S., Accounting, Minor in Geology

Research Interests

Carbonate Geology, Chemostratigraphy, Petroleum Geology

Projects

My current project involves studying a 600 meter carbonate section in Idaho. A recent conodont study on the section helped to better constrain the age of these rocks. I will be collecting samples in order to complete a high resolution chemostratiographic profile of 13C for the section. This will hopefully reveal differences between the carbon isotope curve of open ocean verses epeiric seas. This will also provide higher resolution of the carbon isotope curve for this age and time.
