Message from GEODAC

refineryGEODAC is an advisory council that's made up of former students, recruiters, petroleum industry representatives interested in collaboration, and respected and renowned geoscientists. Why are we interested in A&M's Department of Geology & Geophysics? Because we all recognize that the department – its faculty, its staff, and especially its students – has enormous potential to contribute significantly to the prestige of A&M, to the needs of the state of Texas, and to the welfare of our nation and world in the areas of energy, other natural resources, and the environment.

And how is GEODAC helping? We have a three-fold approach to emphasize industry integration with the department. We are helping the department to reconnect with industry to help recognize opportunities available to both. We are seeking to rebuild effective relationships with industry to demonstrate the department's leadership in geosciences. We are striving to reclaim the department’s heritage of strong and productive working relationships with an industry that has never been more dynamic and vibrant.

Working hand in hand with our world class faculty, and representing the interests and needs of the energy industry, it is our goal to promote the department's heritage of leadership, scholarship, and research that has produced the finest geoscientists for generations.
